The monochromatic blue palette of the original cover enhances this effect, allowing the carved opening to operate like a portal into another narrative space.

Rather than altering the book through complex patterning, this work relies on restraint—one precise incision that shifts the entire reading of the object, and shapes a physical stage in which a moment of stillness is preserved. Through this small aperture, the viewer is invited to imagine the stories that unfold behind closed doors, in the fog of London streets, and within the layered histories that printed pages quietly contain.
